Scholarship applications are now being accepted for in-person short courses for the:
- Summer Institute in Statistical Genetics (SISG), July 10-28, 2023
- Summer Institute in Statistics and Modeling in Infectious Diseases (SISMID), July 10-26, 2023
All SISG and SISMID courses will be held in-person at the University of Washington campus in Seattle, except SISG Module 17: Forensic Genetics, which will be held online.
Scholarships cover registration costs for up to three modules. In addition, a limited number of U.S.-based scholarship recipients will be awarded travel stipends to help offset costs. Eligibility information and other details can be found on the Summer Institute scholarship eligibility page.
A major goal of the Summer Institutes is to strengthen the statistical proficiency, as applied to genetics and infectious diseases, and career preparation of scholars from all backgrounds. We encourage applications from groups historically underrepresented in STEM such as racial and ethnic minority groups, low income, first generation college students, veterans, people with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQ groups.
Priority submission deadline is March 10, 2023
