Assistant Professor Position in Molecular Epidemiology Available at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

The Department of Pathobiology (vetmed.illinois.edu/path/) within the College of Veterinary Medicine (vetmed.illinois.edu) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Molecular Epidemiology. The anticipated start date for this position is August 16, 2025.

Requirements: The successful candidate will hold a PhD in epidemiology or a related discipline. Demonstrated productivity in epidemiologic research is required, particularly in the areas of phylogenetics, biomedical statistics, big data analysis, or One Health.

Duties: The Department encompasses a unique multidisciplinary blend of microbiologists, immunologists, computational biologists, and epidemiologists who are dedicated to developing novel approaches for understanding host-pathogen interactions and disease prevention strategies for animals and humans. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a well-funded extramural research program and contribute to teaching at the graduate and professional levels.
