Scenario details for the latest round of the COVID-19 Scenario Modeling Hub (additional info below) are being finalized this week. Finalized scenarios will be posted shortly thereafter at https://github.com/midas-network/covid19-scenario-modeling-hub.
This is an open call for teams to participate in the latest round of the COVID-19 Scenario Modeling Hub, a multi-model effort to provide 12-month (previously 6-month) ahead projections of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in US states. The project started in December 2020 and has generated 9 rounds of projections thus far; further, the group has established close connections with public health officials so that projections are used for planning purposes and decision-making. For example, our Round 4 results were published in an MMWR (https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7019e3.htm).
Building upon earlier rounds, projections for this round focus on potential effects of waning immunity and booster vaccinations. As this is an ongoing effort, we include this update on the status of the hub in case you may be interested in participating in this or future rounds. To simplify participation, the submission format follows that of the COVID-19 Forecast Hub (with some metadata additions). Please note that submissions for this round are due on 9 November 2021and that only data available through 6 November 2021 should be used to inform projections.
If you are interested in submitting projections in the COVID-19 Scenario Modeling Hub, please email <firstname.lastname@example.org> as soon as possible. Coordinators are happy to answer questions and speak directly with interested groups.
