Imperial College London invites applications for the position of Head of the Department of Infectious Disease, a leadership role at the forefront of internationally recognized translational research. The department’s research includes the fundamental biology of infectious diseases to the development and application of new approaches to treatment. There are major research programs in human immunology and retrovirology, oncogenic human viruses, molecular microbiology, tuberculosis and vaccine development.
We are seeking an exceptional academic leader with a compelling vision to lead the Department of Infectious Disease. The mission of the department is to develop and sustain a unique portfolio of translational research where scientists from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds work together to address the unmet needs for infectious disease control on a global scale, that is recognized internationally for scientific excellence, for leading innovation in patient care and for supporting the training of leaders for the next generation. You will be expected to develop and implement a future vision and strategy for the DoID, in line with the university’s ambitions, and to enable the DoID to further enhance and extend its international profile.
