John Drake has been elected as a 2020 Fellow of the Ecological Society of America. ESA Fellows, who are appointed for life, are nominated based on their outstanding contributions to fields that advance or apply ecological knowledge in academics, government, non-profit organizations, and the broader society.
John was recognized for his “contributions to the understanding of tipping points in ecological and epidemiological systems and the development of computational methods for modeling the spatial distribution of species.”
John is the Distinguished Research Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Odum School of Ecology, at the University of Georgia. He is also the Director of the Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases (CEID).
