The annual MIDAS meeting provides an opportunity for members to showcase recent work and network with colleagues.
MIDAS members at all career stages are invited to participate; we particularly encourage submissions from students, postdocs, and other early-career investigators.

Program Summary – In-Person (October 29-31)
The meeting starts at 1:00pm with pre-conference workshops on Sunday, October 29 and ends by 12:30pm on Tuesday, October 31.
Meeting Format:
There are four types of presentations:
1) Scientific Session
– Each session has three presenters who give 10-minute scientific talks, heard by all attendees. This is then followed by three concurrent breakout discussion groups. Attendees decide which breakout group they wish to attend based on hearing the short talks.
– Following the short talks, each of the three presenters lead a 25-minute breakout discussion group for their topic. This is where attendees can ask questions, and the presenter can guide more in-depth discussion.
2) Lightning Talks
– These talks are 3 minutes in length. The presenter may either:
| • | show up to three slides during their talk, OR |
| • | demonstrate a piece of software using their personal laptop (pre-recorded demos are also acceptable) |
– Following the Lightning Talks session, there will be an informal networking event where attendees can meet the presenters and discuss the presentation.
– Optional: presenters may display a poster of their talk during the networking event following the talks.
3) Poster Session
– Presenters answer questions about their research as attendees stop by during the poster session. This will be another networking opportunity for attendees and presenters in addition to the event following the Lightning Talks.
– Poster size: 48 inches by 36 inches. While most posters are horizontally oriented, you may also orient your poster vertically.
4) Workshop
– These workshops offer MIDAS members the opportunity to provide more in-depth tutorials to a smaller group of attendees. Workshops are up to 120 minutes in length and take place on Sunday afternoon (October 29th).
