One of the goals of the MIDAS Coordination Center is to organize funding support for MIDAS members to attend conferences to help further their research.
The MIDAS Coordination Center will provide partial financial support for a limited number of MIDAS members to present their research at conferences, applicable toward transportation, registration, and/or hotel fees only.
*As a recipient of this travel scholarship, you will be expected to share your work with the broader MIDAS community through a future MIDAS webinar — either as part of a panel featuring all scholarship recipients or in a separate webinar focused on your specific research area. Additional details will be provided following the conference. Recipients are also expected to acknowledge MIDAS support on their poster or in their presentation.
To apply for a travel grant scholarship, complete the Travel Grant Scholarship application.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Once in the application, you will need to provide the following information to submit your application:
Funds are not disbursed in advance. Applicants approved for this partial financial scholarship must submit receipts for travel expenses before payment can be processed. Awards will be adjusted to match the total documented expenses if receipts fall short of the amount originally awarded.
This partial financial support applies only to transportation, registration, and/or hotel costs and may not be used for membership fees, meals, or other expenses.
Please note payment can take several weeks and you must complete and send a W-9 or W-8 to Kristin Kropf at khk22@pitt.edu.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Awards are contingent on upon available funding, with the goal of maximizing support for applicants from a broad range of institutions. To ensure equitable distribution of funds, recipients are eligible to receive funding only once per fiscal year.
