Bio

Alison Hill is John Harvard Distinguished Science Fellow at Harvard University. Her research focuses on developing mathematical and computational tools to help us better understand, predict, and treat infectious diseases. She has worked extensively on HIV/AIDS and drug-resistant infections, studying infection dynamics both within individual hosts and at the population level. Her work uses ideas from evolutionary theory, network science, statistical inference, quantitative systems pharmacology, and systems immunology. Alison is broadly interested in improving our understanding of biological systems through mathematical modeling, and in the past has worked on social contagion, the bed bug epidemic, the origin of multicellularity, human herpesviruses, T cell receptor repertoires, iron regulation in the body, the opioid crisis, and COVID-19. She has a BS in Physics from Queen's University (Canada), a PhD in Biophysics/Medical Physics from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology, and an MPH from Harvard School of Public Health.
