Bio

Dr. Havumaki is an epidemiologist with research interests in infectious disease modeling and tuberculosis. He recently graduated with a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan, where he worked on mathematical modeling projects related to norovirus, tuberculosis, and epidemiological study design. Prior to that, he managed data collection and conducted statistical analyses for multinational studies assessing diagnostic tests for tuberculosis at FIND in Geneva, Switzerland. He is currently using an individually-based network model to assess the effectiveness of tuberculosis contact tracing screening interventions in different contexts. His goal is to use rich and unique datasets in his research to ultimately help inform the decisions of policymakers.
