Bio

I work at the intersection of mathematical modeling, immunology and infectious diseases. I did my PhD at Princeton University, where I modeled the dynamics of acute infections at both the population and within-host levels. One particular focus was investigating the impact of immune life-histories on epidemiological dynamics of common pathogens such as measles and influenza. In my current postdoc at Columbia University, I am delving deeper into within-host viral dynamics and the generation of immune memory. Recent projects span a number of pathogens including HIV, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2. Ultimately, I am interested in understanding how fine-scale immunological responses modulate long-term population dynamics. I am also interested in creating useful tools for reproducing and disseminating research findings. These include R packages, shiny apps, and software tutorials.
