Postdoctoral Associate Position Available at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health

The Division of Health Policy & Management at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health is seeking applications for a full-time Post-Doctoral Associate position to work with the Midwest Disease Modeling and Analytics Preparedness Center (MDAP). MDAP is part of Insight Net, a CDC-funded national network for outbreak and disease modeling. The postdoc will be formally mentored by Dr. Eva Enns and will engage in projects related to infectious disease modeling and decision analysis for pandemic response. The postdoc will have opportunities to lead the development of infectious disease models, engage in pandemic preparedness activities, interface with public health and health system decision-makers, and disseminate results at stakeholder meetings and professional conferences.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD degree in decision science, health services research, operations research, applied mathematics, informatics, or other relevant fields
  • Evidence of research productivity in mathematical modeling, decision analysis, and/or data science
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, virtual, and in-person communication
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a research team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in pandemic response and/or infectious disease modeling
  • Experience coding models in the R programming language
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience partnering with public health and/or health care organizations
