We are seeking an early career postdoctoral researcher to work on the spatial and temporal dynamics of grain aphids (Sitobion avenae) and the associated incidence of Barley/Cereal yellow dwarf virus (B/CYDV), whose main vector in Ireland is the grain aphid (https://drjonyearsley.github.io/agriadapt.html). The results will form the basis of a decision support tool for farmers on if/when they should spray their crops to control aphids and the virus they vector. This post is part of the AgriAdapt project, a collaborative project between UCD, Teagasc and Dundalk Institute of Technology focused on developing strategies for Irish agriculture to adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.
Salary Range: €44,347 – €46,912 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on the 2nd of October 2024.
