My research focuses on the zoonotic parasites diversity and ecology of host-parasite interactions, with a particular focus on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). I am especially interested in neotropical wildlife disease ecology and its application to the epidemiological study of zoonotic infections from a One Health approach, in order to develop a database , expand the registries, as well as the geographic ranges of protozoa and metazoan parasites and their relationships with anthropogenic impacts, seeking to understand the epidemiological role of these infections in public health, in particular the impact on vulnerable human populations in less-served areas of our region and that have been poorly studied. From this experience leads research networks based on international cooperation in order to develop the necessary tools to develop pedagogical and solidarity proposals.
