Matthew Mietchen

Bio

I am currently working with Justin Lessler (UNC - Chapel Hill) and Lindsay Keegan (University of Utah) on early detection of infectious disease epidemics and outbreaks as a post-doctoral research associate at the Carolina Population Center (CPC) in Chapel Hill, NC. I received my PhD from Washington State University where my research focused on building infectious disease models to understand transmission dynamics in small populations with Eric Lofgren. Prior to pursuing my PhD, I worked as the HIV / STD Epidemiologist and Surveillance Coordinator at the Utah Department of Health in Salt Lake City for 8 years, after receiving my MPH at the University of Utah in 2009.
